Automatic proof filing through ECRIS — how it works.

ECRIS Atlas is the information system of the Romanian courts, developed by the Ministry of Justice and operated by the National Centre for the Administration of National Notarial Registers. Sigilia connects to the ECRIS Atlas API through a secured OAuth 2.0 channel, officially authorised for filing payment proofs.
A Sigilia payment, from bank confirmation to a proof visible on the court portal, takes four steps. First: LibraPay confirms the payment and transmits the transaction status to Sigilia. Second: Sigilia generates the payment proof as a PDF, signed electronically with OneSpan. Third: the proof is filed in ECRIS Atlas for the case number indicated at the moment of payment. Fourth: ECRIS confirms registration and returns the case-file registration number.
For the 15 Romanian courts of appeal and the tribunals in their jurisdiction, registration is full and automatic. For specialised tribunals (for example, the Tribunal for Minors and Family), filing happens in two steps: the proof is transmitted electronically, but the clerk confirms manually at the first hearing.
For the user, the path is invisible. At the moment of payment, you fill in the case number and the competent court. The rest happens in the background. The proof is sent to your email within 15 minutes of payment, and the ECRIS registration is visible on the court portal within an hour.
In cases where the case number is entered incorrectly, ECRIS returns an error code to Sigilia. The system contacts you automatically by email with the error details and the option to correct the number. The proof is refiled without the need for a new payment.
